Adapted from his best-selling Tribute Wool Blanket design, Diné/Navajo artist Jared Yazzie centers a classic Navajo weaving design in his contemporary Tribute Earrings.

"The stepped pattern in my Tribute Earrings is derived from a two grey hills pattern found in Navajo weaving," shares Jared. His grandmothers were weavers, and Jared's design literally and symbolically pays tribute to their teachings and heritage. “While my grandmothers are no longer with us, these patterns and colors remain to tell us the story of where they come from. I felt it was important to show tributes to their design through my new work. It makes me feel as if I am passing along their legacy.”

Jared has designed these earrings to be just as beautiful on the back as they are on the front. The reverse of his Tribute Earrings features an embossed design that combines symbols for mountains and rain: themes throughout his earring collection.
